Assembly Drawing Beadwork on the Thunderbird Silhouette

Assembly Drawing. Leave enough slack between the knots and the top edge of the silhouette to slide two of the simulated eagle feathers and two white feathers into place (see the photograph).

String the beads to the remaining laces_: then attach them to the silhouette, leaving the lace ends uneven. Starting at the top of each lace, string the bead combinations as shown and hold them in place with an overhand knot. Referring to the photograph, place the feathers in by sliding the shaft ends of the white, red, and black feathers under the beads to hold them in place.

To attach the simulated eagle feathers at the bottom, hold the shaft of the feather against the leather lace and wrap the red felt around both. Finally, tie the red felt in place with yellow gold thread or artificial sinew.
