INSTRUCTIONS

Make the angel

Cut the straight edge of each wing with a 25 degree bevel. Note: Reverse wing sides to allow them to extend toward the back evenly. Cut the pattern pieces to shape and glue them together (see Fig. 1). Place the angel assembly on a nonporous surface to dry for 24 hours, then sand using medium grit sandpaper. Place a little glue in any gaps as you sand. The sanding dust will mix with the glue and form a putty. Repeat on back and sides, sanding the edges round.

Make the harp and finish

Resaw harp piece No. 9 as shown in Fig. 2 to produce two pieces 3/8" thick. Spread glue on one side, attach one end of each of the 9" lengths of nylon string, then press together with the second half and place in a vice to dry.

Tack four brass nails into harp piece No. 10 as indicated on the pattern, then glue to harp piece No. 9 and clamp to dry. Once glue has dried thoroughly, attach the loose ends of the nylon strings to the brass nails (see Fig. 3) and trim off any excess. Sand by hand using a fine grit sandpaper.

Glue the small brass ring to the top of the hair piece No. 7, then glue the wings in place. Attach the 1/4" brass eyelets as shown. Once dry, finish with lemon oil, attach the 24" length of nylon string to the eyelets for hanging, and enjoy.
