area. You might want to keep the clock face loosely in position during the gluing steps to make sure that no leaves cross too deeply into that area.

When placing leaf pair No. 7, the stem piece of the left leaf must be cut off and then re-glued to the side of the right leaf stem. This will form a symmetrical crossing of the two leaf stems. Once all leaf pairs are in place, the individual acorn clusters can be added., either by following the pattern or using your own creativity.

After all pieces are in place, use a hot glue gun to add spots of glue on the rear side to those areas not in contact with the support ring. Do this only on the inside edges of the support ring, taking care not to let the glue show in front.

Finishing and final assembly

To finish the rear of the clock pieces, mask off the area where the case gets glued on, lay the assembly upside-down on a sheet of newspaper, and use a dark brown spray paint to cover the hot glue spots. The rear of the clock case can also be sprayed by carefully masking off the sides and spraying straight down.

The completed assembly is then glued onto the clock case. One to two coats of natural or clear Danish oil finish can be applied to all surfaces, except the back which has been spray-painted. Once all finish has dried, insert the clock assembly attach the hanger and enjoy!
