Adhere one to the stock selected for the overlay and the other to the wood for the backer. Bore blade entry holes in the waste areas of the overlay and make all cuts, starting in the center and working your way to the perimeter. To saw out the backer, start by tilting your saw table 15 degrees to the left and sawing around the outside of the pattern in a counterclockwise direction. Bore a blade entry hole on the inner circle. Reset your saw table to 3 degrees to the left and saw around the inner circle in a clockwise direction. When done, recess the inner portion of the backer. Thoroughly sand both pieces. Center the overlay in the recessed area and glue it in place. When dry, apply finish of choice. Add hanger of choice, then hang and enjoy. |
