Although it is a relief, it has the appearance of being car/ed in the round. The three-quarter view is a bit trickier than a full front view or a strict profile, but you're up to the challenge, so give it a go! Step 2. Make a 1 "-deep stop cut at the base of the chin. Lower the wood at £the neck to that level. Leave the bottom section of the wood full thickness, but angle the chest down to the level of the neck. The point where the base of ..................,,.....,..,.,......................................... the neck meets the | chest is the lowest point of the carving. I will elaborate more | on this further in the instructions. Step 3. With the No. 1 1 -8mm gouge, make a stop cut at the inside corner of the right eye.
