Wood: Baltic birch plywood—one piece 1/8"X 12-11/56"x 9-7/8' (or size to fit your customer ready-made frame) Tools: scroll saw with No. 2/0 spiral saw blades; drill with assorted small bits; small square for scroll saw blade Removable Adhesive

Paper (or spray adhesive) Clear packaging tape Wood glue

Sandpaper, assorted grits 10" x 13" or 11" x 14" ready-

made frame Red, blue, and green spray paint (or other background color of choice)

Introduction

Carousel horses are a continually sought-after (and ter-ibly addictive!) collectible. Oncc a carousel fanalic. always a carousel fanatic. I have porcelain statues, charms, and music boxes that I received as gifts since I was a young girl and have collected over the years. I saved Ihem all and have used them to decorate my daughter's bedroom. (It is a good excuse to continue displaying my fantastical creaturcs as an adult!) There, I admit il in public. I still collect carousel horses. I slill love lo ride the carousel at theme perks and at the local fairs. And I still like the horses on ttie outside ring the nest. I never saw the poinl in ridirg a carousel if you couldn't ride the horses that actually go up ard down as you spin round ard round to the loud, barging organ] My dream carousel would have nothing but moving horses—NO silly giraffes or lions (zebras were okay), and especially there's be NO wasted space for bench seats!

Okay, so you've roticed all the lines to scroll on this pattern, but cut this on a piece cf boaufilul cuily maple and you will find oul if was worlh il! Imagine cutting this out of an oak plank with your riece's name on the bottom lo hang on her bedroom door. You could even Irar sfe^ the pattern to a headboard for a yourg girl's carousel bed.
