Creative Woodworks & crafts-096-2003-Winter, страница 35- INSTRUCTIONS These ornaments are fun, easy and fast to make. As you will note from the photograph, the ornaments can be cut solid or with the frets cut out. They can also be painted or left natural. Just have fun and let your own imagination put its' special stamp on the project. Most any type of wood can be used; however, if you are new to compound sawing, try starting with sugar pine, white pine or basswood. For a bigger ornament, try enlarging the patterns 150%. Cut out the pattern along the solid rectangular border. Using spray adhesive, adhere the pattern to two sides of the wood block by folding the dashed line on a corner of the block. Note: you can use plenty of adhesive as the pattern will not need to be removed when you're done, as with most scroll saw patterns. Drill starter holes in the frets with a 1/16"-Dia. bit. Using a No. 3 scroll saw blade, cut the left side of the pattern in one continuous line, leaving the waste pieces in place for stability. Allowing the figure to rest naturally in the block, pinch the pieces together and tape around with the cellophane tape. Next, cut the right side in one continuous line. Gently remove the Wood Ornaments, Winter 2003 figure from the block and you're done! ij 35 SUPPLIES Wood of choice - one piece each 1" x 1" x length of ornament Tools: scroll saw with No. 3 blades; drill with 1/16"-Dia. bit Temporary-bond spray adhesive 3/4"-wide cellophane tape 6 Ornaments by Diana Thompson of Scroll Saw Inspirations Diana Thompson Scroll Saw Inspirations 6215 Old Pascagoula Rd.
