The parts are stained before assembly, with care being taken not to stain the faying surfaces of the joints. Squeeze-out can then be wiped off and a clear finish can be applied. A minimum of glue stains will appear when this technique is used. Living herein "Shopsmith, U.S.A." and as a loyal Shopsmith customer for many years, I can't understand how you can overlook listing their catalog as an excellent source of woodworking tools in your "Cabinetmakers' Supplies" column. I recently visited their Dayton store and picked up a copy which I'm enclosing for your review. The dimensions on the drawing show the cabinet rail (part E) to be 12 inches long, but the bill of materials shows this same part to be 10 inches. Raymond B.
