Thank You, Mr. Lincoln One very special letter crossed my desk recently from Leon C. Lincoln, of Christmas. Florida. With his letter, Mr. Lincoln sent along a photo of the Kagle he huilt from plans in our September/October 1993 issue. The American hagle was a huge hit—and over 3000 readers took advantage of the accompanying full-size pattern offer in the same issue.

Thanks, too. Mr. Lincoln, for just about the besi compliment any publisher can receive. Your statement. "I receive about 14 other woodworking magazines, and just recently realized that when I do a project, it tends to be from The Woodworker's Journal" really says it all. You'll find Mr. Lincoln's letter on page 6.

New Features Actually, the free pattern offer mentioned above was instrumental in our decision to add a new feature to the magazine—the Clip-N-SAvr.™ Fui-Sr/r Pattern (see

page 43). Since the back side of the Clip-N-SaVE™ Full-Size Pattern is blank, you can remove the pattern from the magazine without losing any other material. In the past, cutting out a pattern page usually meant destroying the project page on ihc oppo site side. Punch holes in the Cup-N-Save'm pattern, and y ou can store it in a tooseleaf folder. Add a new Clip-M-Save1*1 pattern to your collection with each new issue.

Also starting in this issue, you'll note our increased attention lo construction detail. Kxtra illustrations. "Pro Tips." and more in-process photos will all help to make our projects easier for you to build.

Project/Feature Lineup This issue is packed with great projects, and it's hard to pick favorites. The lovely Bowed Psaltery is so easy to play, you'll be knocking out tunes in only a few hours. The Seascape Clock is a real cye-pleaser. and for utility, our Recycling Island will make your recycling chores a good deal more pleasant. But for dyed-in-the-wool woodshop fanatics, it's hard to beat the Ultimate Knock-Down Router Table, or our informative article. "Getting The Most From Your Portable Planer." Let the chips fly!
