We have seen desk organizers in a number of gift catalogs, and they seem to be quite popular. The organizer is easily moved about, and it holds notepaper, envelopes, and has

a handy little drawer for paper clips and stamps.

Our organizer, which is crafted in pine, is designed so that the major parts can be cut from commonly available 1 x 6 and 1 x 10pine boards, which typically measure 3/4"

thick x 5-1/2" and 9-1/4" wide, respectively.
