All straight-edged pieces should be cut to size on a table saw for acccuracy. Cut scroll saw edges slightly oversize. Attach the pattern to the wood using spray adhesive. Drill blade entry holes and make all interior cuts first, then cut around the perimeter of each pattern. Drill a 1-3/8"-Dia. hole as indicated on part A for the clock insert. Remove the patterns and sand as needed. Glue the block (E) to the base (D) as shown in the Exploded View Drawing. Glue the calipers (A) to the base and against the block. Sand the inside of the micrometer (B) to fit snugly over the block, then glue in place. Locate the piece high enough up the block so that it does not with the calipers. Place a drop of glue where the C-shaped portion of the micrometer meets the block. Wipe off any excess glue from the block after you slide the micrometer into place. Bore a 1/8"-Dia. hole in the center of the bottom of the depth micrometer (C) and the base. Insert the dowel and glue. Next, glue the depth micrometer assembly into the base and the top of the block. Note: you may need to sand the end of the dowel pin to correct length. Allow to dry for one hour. Apply finish of choice and insert the clock movement according to manufacturer's directions. Sit back and enjoy your new clock. Insert clock movement Block S |
