! INSTRUCTIONS

j Make the case assembly

I Attach the pattern to the wood with spray adhesive. Drill all blade entry \ holes and begin by cutting the small-I er areas. Once all cuts have been 'made, remove the pattern and sand the face and sides with the belt | sander.

Rout a 1/8" wide x 1/16" deep ]groove on the inside edges on the | top, bottom and side pieces, howev-|er on the top and bottom pieces, I stop 1/2" from each end. Glue the |sides to the top and bottom, making jjsure that the components are [square.

Glue in the shelf; center it on the ) leaf design in the middle of the side ^pieces in such a way that it does not I show from the outside. Glue the top and bottom pieces to the assembly )and finish as desired.

lAdd the inserts and back

] Seal the insert pieces with the sealer or gesso. Paint the pieces Hunter <Green. Note: do not paint the back | piece. When the paint is dry, apply j varnish.

Place a dot of super glue to various points on the inside of the mahogany pieces, lay the inserts [(the four side pieces and the door I backer) in place, and hold until the ?glue sets. Glue the back piece in ; place as well. Use of a spray accel-I erator will speed up the drying time.

j Install the door

Transfer the hinge patterns to the : stock and cut the pieces to shape ^according to the directions, j Referring to the inset photograph, ; glue the hinges to the door and the lease.

Transfer the compound cutting | pattern to the 3/4" square stock and .saw out the knob. Glue it in place on s the door.

Wood: mahogany— one piece 1/4" x 9" x 12-1/2" (for the door), one piece 1/4" x 3-1/2" x 13" (for the ends), two pieces 1/4" x 2-3/8" x 9-1/2" (for the sides), one piece 1/4" x 2-1/4" x 12-1/2" (for the top), one piece 1/4" x 1-1/2" x 12-1/2" (for the bottom), one piece 1/4" x 2" x 12" (for the shelf), one piece 3/4" x 3/4" x 3/4" (for the knob), two pieces 1/4" x 3/4" x 1/2" (for the hinges); Baltic birch plywood— one piece 1/16" x 10" x 12-1/4" (for the back), one piece 1/16" x 9" x 11-3/4" (for the door backer), four pieces 1/16" x 2" x 4-1/2" (for the inserts)

Tools: scroll saw with No. 5 blades; drill with 1/16"-Dia.
