Creative Woodworks & crafts 2002-01, страница 50continued from page 48 Contour, glue, and finish Once all the pieces have been cut and fit, begin contouring them. Use a sanding drum to "sculpt" each individual feather. Smooth each piece with a flutter wheel or finish sander. When satisfied with your results, reassemble the pieces on a piece of 1/8" plywood and trace around them for the backer board. Using a No. 5 blade, cut slightly inside the traced line. Now it is time to glue up your pieces. Start in the middle and work your way outward, applying small amounts of glue on the lower portions of each piece. This will help eliminate the possibility of excess glue squeezing out of the joints. Note: it is a good idea to keep a wet sponge on hand to wipe off any excess. When dry, apply three or four coats of clear finish of choice, sanding lightly between each application. Attach sawtooth hanger and enjoy. r|| OUR 8th EDITION OF WOOD ORNAMENTS IS NOW ON SALE, FEATURING 300 SPECTACULAR FULL SIZE PATTERNS!!!
