18 • Creative Woodworks & Oa*ts March 2DC2 INSTRUCTIONS Choose your material from a variety of hardwoods or solid core plywood. Cut the work pieces to size according to the Bill of Materials. Sand as needed. Using spray adhesive, adhere the paper patterns to the wood. Drill holes where indicated on the patterns. Drill blade entry holes and make all cuts, beginning with the interior and working toward the perimeter. Remove the patterns and sand off any glue residue if necessary. If desired, round the edges of the base by sanding or using a router and small roundover bit. Assembly Using wood glue, attach Overlay No. 1 (C) and Overlay No. 2 (D) to the front of the Ball (A) where indicated on the pattern. Next, attach the Baseball Player (B) to the front of Overlay Nos. 1 and 2 as indicated on the pattern. Secure this assembly into the slot in the Base (E) also using wood glue. Finish as desired and add the accessories of your choice. Enjoy! ^ SUPPLIES Tools: scroll saw with No. 2 or 5 blades; drill with bits including a 1/8"-Dia. bit and a 1-3/8"-Dia.
