introduction

This project was specifically designed to utilize a clock insert featuring the animal that symbolizes wilderness—the wolf.

We selected pieces of wood from our scrap box that had strong grain patterns. None were exactly 1 /4" thick. As a matter of fact, the piece we used to hold the clock insert in section No. 3 is 3/8" thick. The variances in thickness and colors create an interesting effect. You too should experiment with species, colors, thicknesses and grain patterns!

INSTRUCTIONS

Adhere the patterns to the stock with spray adhesive. Note: base sections A and B are shown on top of each other, in the pattern section, to indicate proper placement for glue-up. Also, placement for section Nos. 1 through 5 are shown on the base. The dotted line is a reference mark to assist in positioning the sec-BL-- tions. A reference

Remove patterns and touch up anyr^f imperfections with needle files, sandpa-|§| per, etc. Check the clock insert fit and;"?Hs' adjust as needed. Note: you want to do ■ this prior to gluing the sections together.
