Honey locust - Has the grain of oak, with heartwood having a very definite orange color.

Laeewood - A hard exotic with some of tlie most interesting Oak (white) - Nice shades of tan aie found in the heartwood. grain you'll see in wood.

Mahogany - Reddish-hrown coIot, medium-hard but easy to Osage orange - When freshly surfaced it has a yellowish, iri-cut and shape, descent color, but will darken wiLli time as shown in the photo.

Maple (hard) - Similar to soft maple in color; beautiful grain in curly, fiddleback, and tiger-stripe versions.

Pine - Cuts aud shapes easily. Sometime has a gray color to it as seen hi (lie photo. Take care when selecting pine to he sure it doesn't have excess pitch, which will gum up saw blades and sanding sleeves more than other wood. Pine takes paint and stain well.
