continued from page /1 Using the drill and brad point bit, bore a 1/4" Dia. hole at the eye, approxirnctefy 3/32" deep. Lse the 1/16"-Dia. pilot hole previously drilled as a guide. Contouring Once all the pieces ore fitted, you can begin contouring them. Refer to the picture of the completed project and the typical contours illustration [in the pcttern section) for guidance. When all of the contouring with sanding drums has been completed, sand each piece smooth by hand or use a 120-grit sanding mop in your drill press running at approximately 2300 rpm. Place the lowered piece in position and draw a reference line on the edge of the adjoining piece. Sand the edge lo Ihe line. Fil and sand as necessary until a snug joint is achieved, then join the pieces together using masking tape on both sides. If you heve a band sew, you ccn quickly and safely reduce the thickness of the "wing" pieces by attaching them to a 2" x 4" block using double-sided tape and resawing.
