before it connected tc the main stem. It not only looks^ better because the kerf line's stay equal, but it adds strength to the finished project as well. Cutting all fourj plants in this manner only adds a minimal amount to the overall cutting time of the project, but it adds quite a lot tc the finished look.

Prill Hade-access holes in each of the leaves and flowers of the four outer plants.

Using spray adhesive, apply the floral arrangement pattern to the wood. Cut the outside of the pattern. Drill blade-access holes in each of the leoves and flowers of the four outer plants using a No. 60 drill bit.

Cut center first, and then each petal.

After the four plants jusl described are cut, move onto the four floweis ol the cenler of the arrangement. Cut the I center of a flower, and then work uiourtd it, petal by i petal.

INSTRUCTIONS

Kerf width changes. It's tempting to drill just one leaf or flower and cut the entire plant, but it's a temptation that should be resisted. If each of those plants were done as single cuts, wood movement wouId cause some kerf lines to close up, opening the width of the adjocerit ket I wider Ihan it should be. To illustrate, I cut the plant in the upper lefl pari of the floral arrangement on a scrap piece of cherry as one cut ftorri a single blade occess hole. Note how some kerf lines ore already closed up right off the saw.
