Now jotting down dimensions and rough calculations is a breeze. < Bob Zimmerman of Des Moines, Iowa, came up with this inexpensive panel carrier. All you need are a couple of bicycle storage hooks, a 2x4, a PVC pipe handle, and some rope. 7 Pegboard Drawer Bottoms While building some drawers for added storage under my workbench, I ran out of the V4" hardboard I normally use for the drawer bottoms. Looking around the shop for a suitable substitute, I found some pegboard. It seemed sturdy enough for my purposes, so that's what I used. The pegboard had a white melamine surface on it. It helps "lighten up" the inside of the drawers and it's easier to keep clean. But there's another big advantage with pegboard. You can make use of the holes by adding dividers for the drawers. This helps keep things organized, as you can see in the photo at right. On shallow drawers, you can simply use ty'-dia. dowels on the bottom of the partitions to locate them in the holes. On deeper drawers, I've found that #8 x %" roundhead woodscrews work perfectly to fasten them.
