If the leg is to have a club or ball foot, the blank can now be mounted on the lathe for the initial shaping. Except for carving details, the rest of the leg is best shaped with cabinet files. These are better than the spokeshave for safely removing wood with irregular grain around compound curves. Final smoothing can be done with a curved cabinet scraper, followed by finish-sanding. \\v>]

Sometimes our mailing list is made available to companies whose products or services may be of interest to you. All offers are carefully screened by our staff and only names and addresses are supplied.

As shopping by mail is often a convenient way to do business, most people appreciate receiving these offers. Of course, if you would prefer not receiving mailings of this kind, just send us a note to that effect along with your most recent mailing label.

Also, if you would like your name removed from as many mailing lists as possible (other than The Woodworker's Journal), write to:

They will help get your name deleted from lists used by most major mailers.
