Adding to the Extension

In the February 2009 [issue], there is a plan for a table saw extension ["Drop-Down Outfeed Table"]. Il was exactly what I was looking for. Chris Marshall laid everything out perfectly in the article, which made it very easy to do. it turned out very nice and very useful. I did add a small cable to the leg so when you are setting up the extension, il will hold the leg in place so you do not have to bend over and put the leg up on the support attached to the saw while trying to hold the table, too. Again, thanks for the plans, Chris. Great job!

WJ Responds: That is a great improvement. I'm going to modify my own fold-down table right now!

Help for Small Shop Guys

I want to thank you for your "Outfitting Your Small Shop" article |February 2009], I am currently serving in the U.S. Army and restationed every two lo three years, so a small shop is all I can afford. We are allowed a certain weight limit when moving our

household goods, and not all post housing has garages. With these challenges, I've found that my tools need to be compact and allow for last setup and tear-down. Once again, it was a joy to read your article.

Captain Jason S. Stewart Fort Riley, Kansas

I've only been woodworking for the past two years. Sandor Nagyszalanczy's article on outfitting a small shop caught my eye immediately. I love to compare my choice in tools with what the experts choose. I met and exceeded Sandor's short list, which made me happy!

A Real Shin Banger?

Just wondering how many times the owners of the bed I "Platform Bed," February 2009] will hil that frame with unprotected shins before dismantling it or buying a mattress that extends to the edges. An example of something that really looks good, but has the potential of grievous bodily harm.
