Into high gear for '98

Three-dimensional scroll sawing, in and of itself, is a very big contribution to the woodworking market, but Roy and Scott have put their creativity into overdrive for this year. Specifically, they purchased the pattern business of scroll saw "guru" John Nelson this past summer. Two of the "'jewels" obtained in this deal were John's scroll sawn

wooden baskets and his newsletter, Scroll Saw News. From the moment these gems were acquired. Roy and Scott have been busy polishing them to a high luster.

Wooden baskets

These now famous baskets actually look hand-woven, yet arc made with a scroll saw! Ever sincc Scroller began to market these baskets, they have been a huge success. One big reason for this is that they are not hard to make. You don't have to be an "expert" scroll sawyer, nor do you need a farcy saw to make these baskets—any single-speed saw will do. Each layer is cut individually, then the layers are glued together to form the completed project.

Customers have been buying basket patterns so fast and loving the results so much that Scroller recently developed 48 new wooden basket designs. Shown on the opposite page are just a few.

The Newsletter

Since acquiring Scroll Saw News from the Nelsons, Scroller has published two issues, and each installment is a real joy to read. All twenty oversized
