Customizing the width

This phone and accessory/ stand is designed lo be made in almost any width to accommodate your particular needs. All you have to do is determine the dimension which is right for you and cut the carcass components lo the appropriate sizes. Remember to allow an inch for the two sides, which are made of 1/2" thick stock. The dimensions which need to be adjusted are indicated in the Bill of Materials by an asterisk. To determine the correct length for ihe rails, just add the difference in the measurements.

For example, if you want your phone and accessory stand to be 17" wide instead of 9" wide, the length of the front, stop, bottom, and bracc, as well as the width of the top should be 16". The difference between the original measurement of 8" and the new one of 16" is 8"; to make the rear assembly, add 3" to the length of the rails (originally 5") and cut them that length (13").

The interior cuts on the front piece can be lengthened by making use of the extenders (found in Full Size Pattern Section No. 1). Simply copy and affix as many as are needed as indicated. Each set of extenders increases the width by 1".
