Creative Woodworks & crafts 1998-03, страница 61Cut 45 degree miters on the base molding and glue them to the box as shown. The oversize bottom piece (C) should fit into the 1/4" grooves routed in the base molding. Note: on the light box pictured, the side sections of molding are 3-3/4" long and the front piece is 7-5/8" long. However, even a minor discrepancy in the depth of the routed grooves will affect these dimensions. To compensate for this, it's a good idea to measure your light box and cut the molding accordingly. This principle also applies to the lid assembly as well as fitting the screen into its groove.
Cut the screen Cut the selected stock to size for the screen. As noted, double check the actual dimensions on your light box before sizing the screen. Transfer the screen pattern, also found in Full Size Pattern Section No. 1, to the appropriate piece of oak. Drill blade entry holes in the waste areas of the pattern, insert the saw blade, and cut out the design. Remove the pattern and then sand the screen. Finishing Apply the clear oil finish following the manufacturer's instructions. Install the candelabra socket and switch as well as the lightbulb into the bottom of the light box and let it light up your night!
