A perfect day's agenda The day started out with coffee and bagels for the early arrivals. As the advertisers and designers filtered in, each was given a tour of the "Big Red Barn," the offices of Creative Woodworks and Crafts. Some were even treated to an art room lour where they got a few sneak peaks at issues that have not yet. gone to press. Others, like Garnett Hall, got a one-on-one Visions AirPainter lesson from George, our resident Wizard. Then it was lime for lunch. The big spread was laid oul in a gigantic tent in our parking lot. The bees were minimal and the temperature was a perfect 80+ degrees. People mingled from table to table, saying their hellos and putting faces to the many names they've heard over Ihe years. Lunch was followed with an inspiring speech by Jerry Cohen who thanked everyone for making the past nine years of Creative Woodworks and Crafts possible. After the many thank yous, Robert Becker's Miner Street Band rocked the barn with their original music. Robert is a highly acclaimed guitarist who keeps his day job here at Creative Woodworks and Crafts simply because he loves it. After an hour-long set, il was time to move on. The day-long celebration lasted into the night, as many guests headed over to George and Wendy Ahlers' summer residence—a lakeside trailer about a half hour drive from the office. Scott Edgar from Square One, Dan and Raymond Wilckens along with their families, as well as the Boelman family were just a few who headed out for a fireside woodworks chat. The Creative Woodworks and Crafts family parted that night stuffed, tired, and inspired. And as the weeks passed, another seed was planted, this one even bigger than that garage dream of long ago...a Creative Woodworks und Crafts Festival to celebrate our upcoming tenth anniversary thai would honor the most important impetus for our success...YOU!
