instructions jj Introduction This three-car wooden train measures 32" end-to-end when hooked together, and features removable couplers. The train is || sturdy, inexpensive, and easy to build—even a novice woodworker I will probably be able to finish this project in a single weekend. Hi Make the wheel blocks and attach the wheels To make the wheel blocks, start by sizing the stock to the 42 supplies Tools: table saw; drill with bits; router with 1 roundover bit; band saw; lathe; belt san Wood glue Masking tape Sandpaper, assorted grits One smokestack'* Twelve 2-1/r-Dia. wheels" Twelve axle pegs* Four 7/16-Dia. x 2" dowels (for the couplers) Paintbrush Delta Ceramcoat acrylic paints; Blue Mist, Bright Yellow, Kelly Green, Tomato Spice Walerbase polyurethane 'Available from Meisel Hardware Specialties, P.O. The smokestack is Part No. 1203; the 2-1 /2"-Dia. wooden wheels are Part No. W25020; the axle pegs are Pari No. APS. dimensions indicated in the Bill of Materials. Bore a hole for the axles. Make the holes large enough to snugly hold the axle pegs. On each base, mark the side which will be joined to the base. With sandpaper, smooth the sides and round the corners of the wheel blocks, but do not sand the marked surfaces.
