INSTRUCTIONS

Make the base

Referring to the Plan View Drawing (found in Pattern Section No.1), cut the base to size. Bore a 1/2"-Dia. hole all the way through the piece where indicated. With the 2-1/2"-Dia. Forstner bit, bore a hole 1-1/8" deep where indicated. Thoroughly sand the base piece, making sure to slightly round over the upper edges. Apply the clear finish and install the music movement, following the manufacturer's instructions. When properly installed, the threaded stem of the music movement should be protruding into the 1/2"-Dia. hole.

Continuing to refer to the drawing, attach a piece of Plexiglas to the bottom with small wire brads, enclosing the music movement. Affix four cork pads for feet as shown.

Make the wooden turntable

Saw the 1/2" stock selected for the turntable into a 3-1/2"-Dia. circle. With the 1-1/4"-Dia. Forstner bit, bore a 3/16" deep hole in the underside of the circle. Thoroughly sand this piece and apply finish of choice. Install the metal turntable into the 1-1/4"-Dia. hole following the manufacturer's instructions. Thread the turntable onto the music movement stem, place a small ceramic figurine on the wooden turntable, and enjoy. | j
