INSTRUCTIONS

This project is designed to hold a 1 -7/16"-Dia. clock insert which is supplied with a rubber gasket to hold it snugly inside a 1-3/8"-Dia. hole. To eliminate the need tor this gasket, I have drawn the pattern with a 34mm-Dia. mounting hole. This hole can be carefully cut with a scroll saw.

The lettering for this clock was created with a set of letter guides from SEYCO. To make the letters appear as if they are floating off the base, start by beveling one edge of the wood selected for the letters approximately 14 degrees. Copy the patterns and adhere them to the wood with spray adhesive. Bore blade entry holes in the letters and saw the pieces to shape. Rout a decorative profile on the upper edge of the base as desired. Sand as necessary.

Glue the letters in place on the base (see the Assembly Drawing found in the Full Size Pattern Section) with the beveled rear bottom of the letters resting on top of the base, thus keeping the front edges of the letters above the base. Apply finish of choice. When dry, insert the clock movement and enjoy. |jri
