This is why the extra; stock width around the pattern is needed INSTRUCTIONS Step 2. Set up your saw by tilting the scroll saw table to 15 degrees. Edge-glue, sufficient stock to make two 5/16" thick pieces-of Osage orange and one 1/8" thick piece of mahogany measuring 14' x 14". Laminate the mahogany between the two Osage orange pieces with its grain running perpendicular to that of the other stock. This adds a nice accent, as'well as a little strength to the finished piece.
