Introduction

Several years ago, alter a trip to Chicago during which I met Bob Hlavacck. I decided to build a shop dedicated solely to intarsia. 1 visited and spoke to a variety of individuals and soon discovered that there are manv ways of approaching this magnificent type of woodworking.

Being a person of moderate means dictated what I could afford and also where T had lo be resourceful and inventive. T have attempted to target those items of the most importance with my available money. Elsewhere. T improvise with a little imagination and creativity.

Intarsia, as many of you know, involves a number of facets: selecting wood, transferring patterns, cutting, fitting contouring, sanding, gluing, and finishing.
