Brush several coats of satin varnish onto the brockets, sanding lightly and dusting between coats.

Before finishing the dowel, you may want to screw o smell eye hook into the end of the dowel for ease of hene'ling. ; This way, you can hold Ihe dowel by the hook while varnishing it and also hang it up to dry. Spray or brush several coats of varnish onto the dowel, sanding and dusting between coots. Let dry.

Final Assembly

Mark the placement for the two keyhole hangers on the back of the towel holder base. Install fhe keyhole router bit in your router and set fhe deplh. making sure it doesn't go through to the front. To guide your router, clamp a slraighl piece of scrap wood perpendiculcr to the bottom of the towel holder base. Rout the holes in the back of the plaque approximately 1" long.

Screw fhe other No. 8 screw through the back of the bnseSj where the right bracket is fo be attached. Insert it until just. ) the tip of if comes oul the front of the base.

Bffijfr'* Position the left bracket on the towel holder base, with the 681 t,.-. drilled recess facing toward the center. Lsing a No. 8 screw and working from the back, attach fhe bracket to the base.

Plcce the dowel rod into the recesses in Ihe brackets. Lineup the right bracket with the hole and screw Hp. Conlinue '-to tighten the screw until the back of the bracket is firmly" cttached.

Mount the towel holder fo the wall using the routed keyholes and two screws.
