It began in the fall of '07 , when we were approached Idlj cup frien d. Mike L isle. Trcm the B car d of Directors fcr the W isconsin Lions Foundation. The Foundation was looking for an artist to create a special piece commemorating the recently constructed Health Ledge. I hei) wan ted something with a nautical theme, perhaps a lighthouse, with a plaque that wou Id t, ear the n .mes of the people who U donated to wards construction o ftl, e new facilitij. Me tcld us that the camp was for c Ud ren wi th disabilities such as blindness an dd eafness. l ids wi tU ia betes. an d lids with mild cognitive disabilities. Theij wan ted the project to be three-dimensional so that visuallij-impaired I ids could touch an df eel it.

His storu about th e camp touched our hea rts. As ti me passed, we spoke with others about this project, and it seerne dtl lat almost everyone Knew of the camp. Manij people were aware of someone who had attended the camp, worked there, or Ul, elped raise fun dsf or iT. ver 1 .500 children per gear participate, and evergone praised how wonderful it was for a I the kids and ad ults who atten ded. Creating this project for such a special organization was an honor for us, and a fantastic experience.
