Creative Woodworks & crafts-103-2004-Holiday, страница 12From the editors desk Our First Holiday Issue Here if is, cur first "Holiday Issue" of Creative Woodworks & Crafts. With one huncrea ornament pctterns. Twelve projects, end two substantial feature articles, there should be something of interest in here for just about everyone. The projects herein were chosen because they are either holiday themed or good gift ideas. The Wilckens1 Snowflake Box, in my opinion, is outstanding, and for those of you who like a chci.enge, I suggest this one! While mentioning the Wilckens, let me add that their article about Dr. Ira Anjoorian is fascinating. Dr. Anjoorian has created a mind-boggling volume of high-quality fretwork within a relatively short spen of time. His efforts demonstrate what one person can accomplish with a scroll saw, passion, and the power of concentration, which Ira developed over the decades as a chie; surgeon. Each and every one of our designers for this issue has given one hundred percent to bring you their best work, and I thank them for their efforts. I feel fortunate to be working with c truly fine group of creative individuals. In this issue, we're kicking off a new series for. those of you interested in learning to use 'he mini lathe. I've met many of you who have already embarked upon making pens, bottle stoppers, and letter openers with the mini lathe, and the w'de array of projects typically produced with this tool is very compatible with many of the craft-show items typically made with c scroll saw. Scott and Kathy Griffith, authors of this series, have had many productive years making and selling small, beautiful items they produced on the mini lathe, and they have lots of good ideas to share with us. Enjoy this issue and have a great hoiiday season! Sincerely, /UvJ-AS^Jb,t Robert A. Becker A Few Highlights From Our Next Issue Publisher Jerrv Cohen cm Darren S.
