I haw no fund saw in my Nova Scotia workshop so I cut out each frame with a jigsaw then dressed the inside and outside curves wit h a spokeshave. This is a good time to do all the sandingand finishing, being sure to take the sharp edge off any comer with a sanding block. Gne the frames a coot of primer (or varnish if usinga clear finish), set them aside and cut out the scat and back slats.

I f using a hardwood such as oak or ash. you can safely plane the slats down lo Va\ With softwood - pine or spruce - they should be at least '/i" thkk or even %". The draw-ingsand cutlist have them at Vs*.
