The back should serve 10 square up the assembly, but it's a g<Hxl idea to check all the comers with a framing square, just in case. Once the plywood box is out of clamps, you can cut. lit and glue in place the facings (E. F). Note that the two vertical facings have a in. wide by '/» in. deep by K'/-> in. long stopped groove in them (the groove is '/«in. longer than necessary, but this avoids the problem of having to square ihe stopped end of the groove), and that the uppermost of the two horizontal facings has the same '/» in. by '/s in. groove in it. Glue and clamp the facings in place, taking care to keep the outside edges of the vertical facings, and the bottom edges of the horizontal facings, flush with the edges to which they are glued. Note that the inside edges of the facings overhang about '/ifi in. This overhang serves to accommodate the wall and floor treatments of the display area, and on the lower horizontal edging acts as a drawer stop. Next up is cutting the top and base (G). You'll note that these parts are 5/# in. thick, but this shouldn't present a problem, even if you don't own a thickness planer, sincc '/a in. of material can be quickly removed from 3/* in. stock with a sharp hand plane.
