Furniture Set

A roomful of possibilities in one simple package

Mom of us have to deal with limited space in kids' rooms, and that usually means there is little room for extra pieces of furniture. That's why we think you'll like the space-saving features of this easy -torn, ike project. As shown in the photos, the larger unit serves as three pieces of furniture—a table, a desk or a bench, while the smaller unit can he used as a chair < w ith an option of two seat heights) and a stool, as well as a small side table. You need only turn the units in order to convert them from one use to another.

To keep cost and weight lo a minimum. we used pine for all parts. Everything is butted and screwed together, so it won't be difficult lo make. To increase the holding power of the screws, though, we employed an old cabinetmaker's trick and drove the screws into cross-grain dowel plugs.
