With the popularity of the new Lithium-Ion battery technology these clays, it's no surprise that more and more tool manufacturers — including the old standbys, like Porter-Cable — have Li-ion offerings in their power tool lines.

Two Li-ion batteries, plus a charger, come with the combo kit, but they're not limited to the combo kit: P-C's Li-ion batteries can be used interchangeably with any Porter-Cable 18-volt cordless tool, including tools originally sold with Nickel Cadmium batteries.

Qualifying tools include a bunch of drills, saws, wrenches and blowers. The warranty on the batteries that power these tools is two years for the original purchaser.

You'll also find on the saw a tool-free blade guard/riving knife system, a quick-release zero-clearance insert and an infinitely adjustable T-Glide fence. If you buy the saw with a 36" fence system, it'll cost you $2,899: with a 52" fence it's $2,999.
