INSTRUCTIONS A note on stock selection and preparation Curly maple was selected for the basket shown, but any 3/4" thick domestic hardwood will suffice. Make sure your stock is free from defects such as checks or knots. Size your stock to 8-1/4" x 10-1/4" and finish sand the surfaces (start with 80 grit and progress to 220 grit paper). Transfer the pattern and cut the shape Copy the pattern and affix it to the stock. Using your scroll saw with a No. 9 (.053 wide, .018 thick, 11-1/2 tpi) blade, cut around the outer shape of the pattern. Make sure that the saw table is set square with the blade.
