INTRODUCTION

John Nelson has created another layered bowl based on his popular Gallery Basket series, which you have previously seen in this magazine. However, this one has a slight twist. In order for the layers to match, you will have fo alternate every other layer .end for end for the pattern to work. The pattern can be made from one piece of wood if you wish, or as shown here you can add a bit more interest by changing the top and bottom layers.

Wood; bubinga or wood of choice—one piece 3/8" x 9-1/4" x 12-1/4" (for basket piece No. 1); eucalyptus or wood of choice—one piece 5/8" x 9-1/4" x 12-1/4" (for basket pieces Nos. 2-7)

Tools; scroll saw with Steeoar PTT2 or O/son PGT 5 blades; drill

with l/32"-Dia. bit Temporary-bond spray adhesive Sandpaper, assorted grits up to 320 grit Krazy glue or glue of choice Wafco Wipe-on Poly or finish of choice
