Introduction

You can display these figures in many different ways. In this project we chose to glue 1hem on a contrasting wood background. The first layout looked a little flat when they were just glued to a surface, so we created three levels by relief cutting two frames arajnd a slab of walnut. This method of creating frames from a single piece of wood has many applications in woodworking. We use it to add a bt more visual interest in simple cutting projects such as this when we are creating something that is theme specific. We used 1 /8" red oak plywood for the figures and a 1" walnut slab for the background.
