SUPPLIES

Wood: hardwood of choice (brown oak or similar brown wood with good character lines)—one piece 3/4" thick x 10-1/2" long x 7-3/4" wide (for the owl), and one piece 3/4" thick x 15" long x 3-1 /2" wide (for bases)

Tools: scroll saw with a No. 2R and/or 5R blade; fixed disc or belt sander with fine or extra fine (120/220) disc or belt; drill and/or drill press with 1/16", 1 /8", arid 1/4" bits; router (optional); access fo photocopier Temporary-bond spray adhesive (such as3M 777

adhesive) Clear packaging tape 1 /4 sheet of 220-grit sandpaper Carpenter's glue

1 /8" doweling cut into four 3/4'-long pieces (to join

the base and owl) Several 1" finishing nails

Finishing oil of'your choice (e.g. tung, walnut, etc.)
