Creative Woodworks & crafts-111-2005-Holiday, страница 26continued from page 25 Drill a blade entry hole, and cut out the leaf vein. Position the bank back piece, pattern side up, on the glued bank side piece. Clomp in place, and allow to dry. Repeat the process to attach the bank front to the bank side piece. (For photography purposes, three clamps are shown; however, you will need to use more than three to adequately clamp the pieces together.) Cut the left side of the pattern (the sides of the leaves) first. Saw just to the waste side of the lines to prevent removing too much material. Note: I clamped twc pieces of spare stock to the block using small Quick Grips to give the work more stability as it was cut. Tighten the grips only enough to hold; they shouldn't be so tight that they interfere v/ith the biode's movement through the kerf. Cut along the pattern line, cutting through the front, side, and back layers. Note: Use a single-tooth blade for this step rather than a reverse tooth blade, which tends to slew down the saw action and dull more quickly. Fold the holly leaf pattern along the dashed line. Apply spray adhesive to the back, and wrap the pattern arcund In preparation for the next step, place a strip of cello-two sides of the wood. phone tape around the bottom of the block. i flfl • Creative Woodworks & Crafts Holiday S005 |
