Woodworker

er/grinder I made. I go directly from grinding on a fine grit to forming the hook.

Do you have a listing of mail order lumber dealers? I'm looking for some cedar, basswood, poplar, and some soft woods.

E.D. Harding, Ozark, Ala.

The Cabinetmakers' Supply column in our May/June 1983 issue has a list-i/tg of dealers. For more information, write to them for a copy of their current price list or catalog.

I would be interested in any information you might be able to provide that would help me in the design and location of component parts and the construction of a pool table.

Gene Darnell, Gaithersburg, Md.

Armor Products, Box 290, Deer Park, NY 11729 has plans for three pool tables. Write for more information.

On page 22 of The Beginning Woodworker column in your September/ October 1983 issue, the layout process called for measuring four equal spaces across a board. When working with odd fractions though, dividing by four can result in some awkward arithmetic. An easier way to do it is to lay the ruler on the stock at an angle, then align any two cardinal numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) with the edges of the stock as shown in the sketch. The cardinal numbers in between the edges then represent the equal spaces.

The Band Saw Box project on page 57 of your September/October 1983 issue specifies flocking for the inside of the box. 1 have searched the entire Dayton, Ohio area for a supplier of this material, yet have had no luck to date. Can you suggest a source?
