One hundred artists from 26 states have been selected from among 1,000 applicants to participate in the Washington Craft Show, the only major juried exhibition and sale in the nation's capital to present crafts as fine art. The show, set for April 27 through 29, 1984, is sponsored and organized by the Women's Committee of the Smithsonian Associates.

The five-member jury selected artists working in ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, leather, paper, metal, fiber and mixed media on the basis of originality, quality of workmanship and artistic conception.

The Louisiana Crafts Council will sponsor its 10th Annual Workshops on February 11th and 12th, 1984. The workshops will be held on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The workshops will be in six media: glass, photography, clay, metal, fiber, and wood. The wood workshop will cover chairmaking. Thomas Moser will be the workshop leader.
