Assembly Attach the Plexiglas base to the dome ring with the No. 4 x 7/16" wood screws (see Fig. 19). Unbend the electrical assembly tabs so that they are perpendicular to the bulb and attach the electrical assembly to the Plexiglas base with the 3/32"-Dia. x 1/2" bolts and nuts. Note: you may have to enlarge the holes in the electrical assembly. Attach the feet to the Plexiglas base with the No. 3x1" wood screws. Insert the screws through the Plexiglas from the top, through the brass feet, and then into the pilot holes in the wooden feet (see Fig. 20}. Screw the four No. 5 x 1/4" wood screws partway into the inside of pieces No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the dome, being careful that the screws do not to break through the exterior surface. These screws are to receive the spring and wire apparatus which holds the dome in place (see Fig. 21). To construct the apparatus, thread two 10" long pieces of 28-gauge wire halfway through the ends of the two 1/8"-Dia. x 1-1/2" utility extension springs, linking them together at both ends and bending the wire in half (see Fig. 22). Thread two more 10" long pieces of wire through the center of each spring, again bending the wire in half. Wrap all four ends around the heads of the screws in the dome while moderately stretching the springs. Apply Watco Danish oil finish according to the manufacturer's instructions.
