Creative Woodworks & crafts 2002-03, страница 40THE DOVE OF PEA by Ivan Whillock Introduction A stylized dove is a very attractive symbol, either alone or mounted on a cross. It is a fairly easy carving to do, but the clean edges and flowing lines are a very imponant ingredient. Step 2. Make stop cuts around the body ot the dove with the V-tcol. Lower the wood of the wings closest to the body about 1/4". Allow the wood on the back tips of the wings to remain near the full depth ot the wood, that is, the wood at the back edge of the wings should be thicker than the wood close to the body. This slants the wings into the body. By using a large gouge, you can get a very smooth transition across the full surface of the wing. INSTRUCTIONS Step Y.'Trace'THe pattern ^ blank.'
