Final assembly

Place the slide (C) in the notch intended to receive it on the box assembly, making sure it is flush with the rear of the machine. Mark both sides of the slide at a point where it is not touching the sides of the notch, about 3/4" from the back. Remove the slide and gently tap an escutcheon pin into each side on the marks. These will be the stops for the slide.

Replace the slide into the notch and attach the top, making sure that the top lines up correctly with the bottom. The 1" holes in the top and the slide should also line up. Secure the top with wood screws and plugs.

Using the hot glue gun, secure the ring of the mason jar into the 3-l/2"-Dia. hole in the top. Use a lot of glue here. When set, remove any excess with a knife. Affix a piece of adhesive backed felt to the bottom of the finished

machine. Bore a 1 /8"-Dia. pilot hole in the front of the slide and screw the brass knob in place. Fill the mason jar with small candies, screw it to the machine, and enjoy!

Nes/o Creative Works is Erik arid Patty Oisen. They are the designers and manufacturers of custom furniture. When they are not building furniture or working at a 'real" job, they design original crafts based on their children's ideas and their friends' input. They occasionally get some very unusual ideas going.

The Olsens are originally from Lompoc, California, just north of Santa Barbara. They relocated recently to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin in pursuit of a slower, more meaningful lifestyle and to teach their four children (Crystal, Brooke, Matthew and Wade) the importance of hard work and quality workmanship.
