While initial setup takes a bit longer than most of the other jigs, the Veritas is the best of the lot for quick, repetitive doweling.

Wolfcraft Dowel Master (Model 4660)

This self-centering jig works on boards up to 1 '/4 in. thick and has integral guide bushings in the standard '/■», Vif>. and 7*

Wolfcraft Dowel Master (Model 4660)

in, sizes. It makes edge-to-edge and edge-to-face (corner and T) joints. Two removable guide pins center the guide bushing on the board edge. Like the Arco 582. a slotted guide bracket is used lo reference holes in ihe face of the second board from dowels inserted in the edge of the first board (for corner joints). The jig must he repositioned for each hole drilled.

Wolfcraft Dowel Pro (Model 3751)

This jig makes (he same joints as ihe Dowel Master and includes the same integral hushing sizes, but it's not self-centering. The main advantage to this two-part jig is thai you can clamp both boards into the jig, then to a benchtoptup to 1 in. thicki without need for additional clamps. One clamp contains the guide bushings, the other serves as a spacer, as shown. The jig enables \ou to drill matching holes in both boards at once w ithout moving the jig. Ii accepts stock up to I¹/- in. thick. Sears also sells the same jig under the Crafis-man label.
