Lid (F) - Make the lid from 1/4" black walnut or other species of choice, saw it to 5-5/16" x 10" [experiment with grain direction). Note: if 5/16" thick wood is readily available (or if you have access to a thickness planer, etc.), the lid looks a little better from the slightly thicker material. Round over the top edges with a router and bit or by hand filing and sanding. Feet (G) - Make the four feet from 3/8" thick black walnut or species of choice. Note: use up some of the scrap wood for them, if possible. Bottom panel (H) - Make the bottom for the box from 1/16" Finnish birch plywood (or equivalent). Eagle overlay (I) - Make the eagle overlay from 1/32" Finnish birch plywood (or equivalent). Stack and saw several at a time. Mirror (J) - Make the mirror from 1/8" mirrored Plexiglas sawn to 3" x 7-3/4". Divider panel (K) - Make the divider panel from 1/4" thick black walnut or species of choice cut to 1-1/4" x 3-13/16". Support leg (L) - Make the support leg from 5/16"-Dia. dowel cut 1-1/4" long. Music box cover (M) - Make the music box cover from 1/8" clear Plexiglas.
