In the March 2002 issue of Creative Woodworks & Crafts magazine, I did a product review on MagEyes hands-free magnifiers. The company now has a new product called HatEyes. They work the same way. but clip on the britn of your hat or cap. HatEyes provide hands-free magnification. They are lightweight, niade-in-the-USA magnifiers, and work well even if you wear glasses.

The optical grade acrylic lenses are available in four powers: 1.6x with a Working Distance (WD) of approximately 12" to 14"; 2.0x (WD 10" to 12"); 2.25x (WD 7" to 10"); and 2.75x (WD 4" to 7)". For scrolling, 1 found the 1,6x and 2.0x most useful, depending on how close j'ou sit to your work.

Stainless steel frame construction makes them a handy, rust-frcc addition to your tackle box for lying on hooks or picking snalbos out of your fishing reel. The 2.25x and 2.75x would be more useful here, as well as for removing slivers from your fingers, or any time you need to see little things a lot better.

The lenses tor HatEyes and MagEyes arc interchangeable between the frames so you can use them lor a variety of applications both in and outside the shop.
